The National Constitution Center's Peter Jennings Project for Journalists and the Constitution offers in-depth resources for reporting on the constitutionality of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act as well as the Supreme Court case U.S. Department of Health and Human Services v. Florida, being argued during a pivotal presidential election year.

This free, complete media tool kit includes:

•    On-demand viewing of the Jennings Project moot court and commerce clause debate previewing the Supreme Court case of Department of Health and Human Services v. Florida.

•    On-demand viewing of live chats with constitutional historians and legal experts on the history of the Commerce Clause plus analysis of the Supreme Court's decision in the health care case.

•    “CHECKUP: Health Care Reform and the Constitution,” a pro/con essay co-authored by David Cole, Professor at Georgetown University, and Elizabeth Price Foley, Professor of Law at Florida International University College of Law.

•    Op-eds and blog posts from the National Constitution Center's blog, Constitution Daily, with a variety of perspectives summarizing the moot court and previewing the Supreme Court arguments.

The Peter Jennings Project

How can journalists report accurately on issues confronting Americans if they aren’t familiar with the Constitution? The Peter Jennings Project for Journalists and the Constitution addresses this concern which has, in turn, left too many Americans unaware of their own country’s strength and character. Drawing upon the wisdom of some of the most brilliant constitutional experts in the United States, each year the Jennings Project engages in dynamic programming that shows the Constitution as the foundation of American life, rather than a legal document understood only by judges and constitutional scholars.
